We're cycling 40,000 kilometres from Nelson to Victoria!

28,287 km, contributed by over 800 cyclists from throughout BC
(see our last announcement)

It is only 1000 km from Nelson to Victoria, but with your help we can collectively cycle 40,000 km (the equivalent to circling the Earth!). You can help by bicycling 1 km, 100 km or the whole 1000 km journey; your kilometres will be logged and added into the grand total. This symbol of our committment to action on climate change will be presented to politicians at the BC Legislature.

This campaign may have a serious message, but we mean to have fun while making it! Let us celebrate what we are trying to maintain for our children – our beautiful landscapes, our dynamic communities, and sustainable ways of living within them.

Our Aim
To provide people in British Columbia with an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to stronger action on climate change. Let's keep building the momentum!

Our Objectives

In all our campaign activities, we will be exploring, modeling and promoting a more sustainable
way of living.

  • Cycle a collective total of 40,000 kilometers or more to demonstrate our commitment to action on climate change

  • Hold inspiring community events along our route.

  • Collect people's stories from across BC describing what we are doing about climate change.

  • Encourage people to send postcards asking politicians at the municipal, provincial and national levels to match our commitment to action.
